Pymlico - No More, No Less - Live in the studio 2022 - Ltd CD

In late 2022, Pymlico set out to record and film live versions of a selection of their songs in their studio. While the videos didn’t fully meet the band’s expectations and only a couple were released, the audio captured something special: It was crisp, energetic, and very much alive!

This album sounds noticeably different from Pymlico’s usual studio releases. The songs are performed without backing tracks, loops, sequencers, drum machines or overdubs. What you hear is exactly what was played in the room.

With a large back catalogue and years of studio work behind them, Pymlico steps away from building songs layer by layer and focus instead on how the band actually plays together. These new recordings of older tracks capture the group reacting in real time, with the arrangements shaped in the room rather than in post-production. It’s not about reinventing the band, but about getting closer to its core.

This is as raw as Pymlico has ever sounded, and closer to their live performances than anything they have released before: Seven people in a room, playing together. No more, no less.
