Endre Olsen & Ragnhild Kambo Grov - Vekk meg lenger vekke - Ltd LP

Endre Olsen and Ragnhild Kambo Grov are ready with their third album on Apollon Records, Wake me longer awake. Following up the earlier dialect-anchored records Bøttevis med blätt (2018) and Baklengs tebake (2021), completing a kind of trilogy. In 2022, Olsen received the Olav H. Hauge grant for young poets for the lyrics on the two previous records. The following year, he created the commissioned work "Sje det som sker, eg møter deg her" here at the poetry festival in Ulvik, as part of the award ceremony. The songs on this new album are based on this work.

Endre Olsen and Ragnhild Kambo Grov are neighbors in the tiny village of Grov in Stord, but have sung their way around country and beach, from town to town and back to the village again through half a lifetime of harmony. Kambo Grov's voice is a large part of the expression also on the two previous records, but never more so than on this one.

The songs on Vekk meg lenger are sung live in the studio by Endre and Ragnhild, and dressed in layers afterwards under the direction of producer and multi-artist Hans-Olav Molde. What is a record actually about? Presumably much the same as the previous one and the one before that again, hopefully in somewhat sharper terms. That the big world has done its part to make some small words on some small notes in some small harmonies, into something a little bigger for those involved than it was last, is in any case certain. Maybe that's what these albums are all about. To sing one's way out of the storm on land and in the lee.
