Bjørn Berge - Morphine - LP

For a number of years, Bjørn Berge has proven himself to be a unique guitarist and formidable live artist. With his acoustic guitars, he moves mountains and blows listeners off the track with hard-hitting arrangements. Berge's fierce and dynamic guitar playing on acoustic guitar travels between blues, rock, funk and ballads. The guitarist from Haugesund has previously released 13 studio albums and one live album. In 2001 and 2002 he received the Spellemannspris ( Norwegian Grammy )in the Blues category, and the Notodden Blues Festival Blues Prize in 2001.

Bjørn Berge's new album is dedicated to the American cult band Morphine ( fronted by the late Mark Sandman) – a band that has been among his biggest favorites since the 1990s.

Morphine's distinctive expression, with baritone saxophone, two-string bass and dark, minimalist nerve, made a deep impression on Berge early in his career. This album is both a tribute and a personal look back at the music that has followed him through several decades as an artist. The release marks a meeting between two musical worlds, united by atmosphere, nerve, uncompromising musicianship and respect!
