The mighty veterans Emmerhoff & Melancholy Babies is back with new album The Dying Of The Light
Bergen’s longest-running rock lineup is striking again. Emmerhoff & Melancholy Babies, who have carried their distinctive sound across Norwegian and European stages for almost three decades, are preparing to release their seventh studio album this fall. With a lineup unchanged since 1998, the band stands as one of the most stable—and now veteran—forces in Norwegian rock.
Their upcoming record, The Dying Of The Light (2025), signals both endurance and reinvention, following a career that began with their explosive debut Viva Revenge in 1999.
The Dying Of The Light will be out on both LP, CD, and digital. Pre-order here: https://orcd.co/thedyingofthelight
New Single: “Hex”
The first glimpse into the new album comes with the single “Hex”, a ritualistic round dance celebrating demonic feminine energy. Layered guitars, relentless rhythms, and haunting vocal textures push the band into darker, more ceremonial territory, while staying true to their heavy and atmospheric core. The Dying Of The Light (2025)
With nearly 30 years on the road and in the studio, Emmerhoff & Melancholy Babies prove once more that Bergen’s rock scene is alive, untamed, and still forging sounds that echo far beyond the fjords.
From the album The Dying Of The Light (2025)
A man travels to the empty monastery where he was once raised as an orphan by stern and mysterious nuns. In the abandoned buildings, memories of occult ceremonies appear, and he is haunted by a fierce feminine spirit.
