Mexican prog-avant-garde visionary A Flying Fish returns with a brand-new double single, Enter the Cave / Fear Thyself, out September 24, 2025 via Apollon Records and Gymnocal Industries. The release offers a powerful glimpse into El Pez Que Voló – Act II, the second installment of the ambitious prog/avant-garde/rock opera musical created by the interdimensional multi-instrumentalist Râhoola.
The concept album follows the surreal odyssey of Teezûck, the flying fish, as he journeys through a mythic, psychedelic world. On Enter the Cave, Teezûck confronts a host of cavernous ghosts—a cacophonous choir of cartoonish spirits ranging from Hellenic heroes to biblical creatures, demons, and avatars—all echoing from the depths of a Platonic cave. The question looms: can the fish escape unscathed?
Adding to the spectacle, the track The Lost Knight I features none other than Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire, Angra) as the knight John, bringing an operatic intensity to the saga.
Described by Râhoola as “a musical quest to unearth the divine gem hidden within oneself”, El Pez Que Voló combines desires, phobias, pathologies, and virtues into a kaleidoscopic moral collage, merging Eastern and Western traditions. The result is a zoomorphic, messianic hero’s journey, wrapped in a psychedelic aura that challenges listeners to dream the impossible.
El Pez Que Voló – Act II will be released on October 31, 2025, available on CD, limited edition red/black marble vinyl, and digital formats.
