Adventure’s acclaimed self-titled 2000 debut has returned, newly remastered by producer and musician Jacob Holm-Lupo. Regarded as a cornerstone of the early-2000s Norwegian prog rock revival, the album blends symphonic prog influences from Camel, Kansas and Uriah Heep with elements of Norwegian folk and hard rock.
Formed by multi-instrumentalist Odd Roar Bakken alongside Nils Larsen, Torkel Aune and guitarist Terje Flessen—and later joined by vocalist Vebjørn Moen—the band spent years shaping their self-produced debut. The result is a rich, 19-track symphonic journey featuring contributions on flute and drums from guest musicians.

Julian Misic – To Kongsdøtre (Two Royal Daughters) — PRE-ORDER
Now available for pre-order is To Kongsdøtre, a major commissioned work from composer Julian Misic, originally created for Bergen Church Autumnal 2023. The piece boldly combines Norway’s oldest recorded musical traditions with modern compositional expression, forming what Misic describes as a cultural and historical tapestry bridging East and West.
Festival director Kjetil Almenning highlights the project’s relevance:
“Sunniva and Anna were both royal daughters… driven into exile. In a time marked by war and unrest, this work highlights historical ties, musical unity and shared cultural heritage across borders.”
Recorded live in Bergen Cathedral, the album features a standout ensemble including Ragnhild Gudbrandsen, Anne Kleivset, Nils Økland, Liv Ulvik, Dobrila Grašeska, Dorian Jovanović, Jan Kåre Hystad, Thomas Aurlund Lossius, HC Dalgaard (Wardruna), Sigurd Melvær Øygaard, Mirsad Gusic, and the Schola Sanctae Sunnivae vocal ensemble.
