LORENTZEN to Release New Album Leave Nobody Behind on May 30
A Transcendent Fusion of Minimalist Prog, Classical Elegance, and Poetic Reflection
Mark your calendars: On May 30th, Norwegian composer LORENTZEN will release his powerful new album Leave Nobody Behind on Apollon Records—a masterful blend of minimalist prog, modern classical, and Nordic jazz, enriched by the haunting beauty of Rainer Maria Rilke’s poetry.
At once ethereal and grounded, Leave Nobody Behind draws its inspiration from an eclectic mix of sonic pioneers—Arvo Pärt, Pēteris Vasks, Steve Reich, Robert Fripp/King Crimson, Nils Frahm, and Nat Bartsch. What emerges is a meditative, emotionally charged soundscape where spacious textures, hypnotic repetition, and classical refinement meet.
A Soundtrack of Hope and Humanity
The album’s central theme is hope—a sentiment echoed in the title track and deeply felt in the moving compositions Dimensions of Hope I–II. But Leave Nobody Behind is not a simplistic ode to optimism; it's a layered exploration of the human condition. Through stirring spoken-word performances by Brian Talgo, selections of Rilke’s poetry are seamlessly interwoven with the music, adding profound literary depth.
“This album is about connection—between people, ideas, and emotions,” says Lorentzen. “In a world that often feels fragmented, Leave Nobody Behind aims to be a reminder of our shared humanity.”
