Lutt Prize–nominated 1991 is turning up the volume from Bergen, blending their Sunnfjord roots into a sound that confidently moves between pop rock, alt-rock, and grunge.
Fresh off a Bandboost shoutout from Kaizers Orchestra in 2025, the band channels the spirit of icons like Oasis, Weezer, The Smashing Pumpkins, Dum Dum Boys, and Pixies—while carving out a sound that’s unmistakably their own. Expect nonchalant rock energy, soaring guitars, and lyrics that hit with raw, melancholic honesty.
Though still flying just under the mainstream radar, 1991 is gaining serious momentum. Their tracks are already in rotation on P3 and P13, with coverage from Stjernepose and Winsents, and continued support from Urørt.
